Dopo gli innumerevoli Emmy vinti (con una media di due l'anno), la 71esima edizione dei Golden Globe Awards non stupisce nell'assegnare il premio per la Migliore Serie Drama a Breaking Bad, terminata con la quinta ed ultima stagione nel 2013. Stupisce invece la scelta della Migliore Serie Comedy o Musical a Brooklyn Nine-Nine di Fox, nata da poco ma già sulle vette della tv americana. Ai rispettivi protagonisti, Brian Cranston e Andy Samberg, è stato assegnato il Golden Miglior Attore nelle due diverse categorie.
Prosegue il successo anche di Dietro i candelabri e del suo protagonista Michael
Douglas.
